My path to becoming an antique and art dealer started at a very early age. My uncle gave me stamp and coin books to fill and my grandfather brought me matchbook covers from his travels. Collecting Britain’s soldiers, sports cards and marbles were also early interests.

While taking art history courses at college, the seeds planted in my youth began to bear fruit: I started collecting, buying and selling paintings. While working at Fraser’s Auction House in Montreal I was responsible for all aspects of the business including auctioning, appraisals, cataloguing and research.

In 1990, my wife and I bought a house in Sutton, Quebec. Since then, I have worked as an independent dealer, buying, selling, appraising, organizing estate sales and participating in antique shows throughout Quebec and Ontario. Over the years, I remained active in Montreal, working part-time for Pinney’s Auction House and as guest auctioneer for the Westmount Rotary Association for some 20 years. I was featured on the Canadian Antiques Road Show and Canadian Pickers, as well as several radio talk shows.

After almost thirty years of involvement in the fine art and antiques business, I opened a cozy little antique shop in the picturesque town of Knowlton/Lac-Brome, just an hour outside of Montreal in the Eastern Townships.
